Preparing and submitting your app for moderation is the most important and complicated stage of your app publishing. But this guide will simplify this stage.

This is the step-by-step guide on how to prepare and submit your iOS White Label App for moderation and publishing. If you are on this stage it means that you have already:

  • completed your "WL onboarding checklist" using Karbon interface. More info on how to complete it is here.

Stage 1. Create an image of your app

1) Log in to your GooglePlay Console. Click on All Apps button. Click on Create app button.

2) Fill in all necessary fields

Stage 2. Set up your app

1) Click on the app that you will set up to access the dashboard of your app

2) Scroll down to Set up app section. Be ready to provide information about your app and set up your store listing. you may also open your WL onboarding checklist and copy some data directly from WL onboarding checklist to GooglePlay console to set up your app and prepare it for submitting. It will help you to fill all the necessary points in the best way.

3) Complete all the necessary items. Start with App access. Choose All functionality available without special access. Click Save. Back to the Dashboard

4) Move to the next section - Ads. Choose, No my app does not contain ads. Click Save. Back to the Dashboard

5) Move to the next section - Content rating. Next - Start questionnaire.

6) Enter your Email address.

7) Choose the Category of your app. Usually, it's Reference, News or Educational

8) Complete the questionnaire. Tick the answers according to the content of your app.

8) When you reach Miscellanous section, please, set the following settings:

Save changes. Click Next

9) Observe the age rating of your app. If everything is correct, click Submit button.

Back to the Dashboard

10) Move to Target audience section. Tick 18 and over at Target age group. Click on Next

11) You will appear in Store presence section. At Appeal to children tick on No. Click Next

12) Check Target audience and content settings and click Save. Back to the Dashboard

13) Move to the News apps section. Tick No. Click Save

Stage 3. Manage how your app is organized and presented

1) Find Manage how your app is organized and presented section. Click on Select an app category and provide contact details.

2) At Category choose the main category of your app. We recommend you to choose Education

3) Choose Tags related to the content of your app.

4) Scroll down to Store listing contact details. Fill in all the necessary fields (Email address, Phone number, Website). You can copy data that you prepared in advance in your Karbon WL onboarding checklist to these fields.

Click Save. Back to the Dashboard

Stage 4. Set up your store listing

1) In the Dashboard click on Set up your store listing

2) If your app will be presented in different languages, you can manage translations and leave the necessary Store listing information in different languages.

3) Fill in the necessary fields (App name, Short description, Full description). You can copy data that you prepared in advance in your Karbon WL onboarding checklist to these fields.

4) Scroll down to Graphics section. Upload the icon of your App. Take into account that Google has strict requirements for graphics you upload. Please, be sure that you follow these requirements

5) Scroll down to the Feature graphic section. Upload a feature graphic image for your app

6) Scroll down to the Screenshots section. Please, be sure that you prepared at least 1 set of screenshots for your GooglePlay account. You can download your screenshots from your WL onboarding checklist on Karbon and upload them directly to your GooglePlay Console account.

Upload 3 sets of screenshots (Phone, 7-inch tablet, 10-inch tablet)

Click Save

Stage 5. Set up pricing

1) Scroll down to Set up pricing section.

Create a merchant account if you haven't done it yet. Here is how you can do that: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/3092739?hl=en

2) Click on Set the price of your app

3) Click on Make your app free. Click Save changes

Stage 6. Set up Policy of your app

1) Scroll down the left menu column to the Policy section. Click on App content section.

2) We have already completed most of the stages of Policy section. The only thing that is left is Privacy Policy. Under this section click Start

3) At this stage insert the link to your Privacy Policy. You can copy the links that you prepared in advance in your Karbon WL onboarding checklist (Link to your Privacy Policy). Click Save

Stage 7. Upload the APK/ABB file of your app and submit it for a test run (optional)

1) Go to the Dashboard. Find the Start testing now - Release your app early for internal testing without review section. Click on Select testers.

2) Add testers you want to join your app before the official release to test the functionality of your app

3) Click on Create new release.

4) Upload app bundle (app APK/AAB file) and add release details

5) Click on Save - Review release

After that, you and your colleagues can test your app in test mode. The app will not be available for everyone on GooglePlay. It will be available to the users who were manually added to the Testers list.

Stage 8. Add and set up the in-app purchases

Attention: you need to upload the app bundle (APK/ABB app files) before you start adding and setting up the in-app purchases. You can find information on how to upload app bundle in this article in section:

  • Stage 7. Upload the APK/ABB file of your app and submit it for a test run (optional)

Just follow the stages presented in this article.

Stage 9. Publish your app on Google Play

1) Go to the Dashboard. Find the Publish your app on Google Play section. Click on Select countries and regions.

2) Click on Add the countries / regions. Choose the countries / regions where you want your app to be available.

3) After that click on Create new release.

4) Upload app bundle (app APK/AAB file) and add release details.

NOTE: If you uploaded it before (for Test run), just click on the Add from library and select the uploaded app bundle.

5) Click on Save - Start rollout to Production

Your release will be reviewed by Google moderators. If everything is set up correctly, your app will be released and appear on Google Play Market. It will be available for everyone for uploading and using. You will be notified by email.
