Gurucan allows you are using external services (YouTube, Twitch, SoundCloud, Facebook, Vimeo, Streamable, Wistia, DailyMotion, Mixcloud) to conduct webinars (via OBS). Let's observe the necessary steps to organize your webinar on Gurucan using the most popular service - YouTube.

Step 1. Create a YouTube account if you haven’t already and verify the account with a linked mobile number (You can’t live stream on YouTube until you verify the account with a linked mobile number). Head to the verification page, log in to your account and follow the on-screen instructions.

Step 2. Once verified, go to your YouTube Studio dashboard. Next, click the camera Create icon located in the top right corner. After that, click Go Live in the small drop-down menu.

Step 3. On the following screen, select the Stream. Enter the stream’s name and set its privacy mode, description, and category. When it's ready, click Create Stream to continue.

Step 4. With your stream created, a control panel will show a preview window and tabs for stream settings, analytics, and stream health.

In the Stream Settings tab, you'll find the stream key you need for OBS. Copy this 16-character key (you'll need to insert it to the OBS software later). Keep this number in secret.

Step 5. Link OBS to YouTube

Download OBS from the official website and install it. Open Settings - this button is located in the bottom right corner. Set up your chosen frame rates, resolution, and bit rate — they control your audio quality.

Step 6. Go to the Stream tab and select YouTube/YouTube Gaming from the Service menu. In the Stream Key field, paste your YouTube stream key. That links OBS with YouTube, so the software streams to your channel. When the settings are done, exit the settings panel by clicking Apply - OK.

Step 7. Now let's choose a source for streaming. In the main window, click the Plus icon at the bottom of the Sources field. You have different options for capturing your footage. You can capture any full-screen app, a specific window, or a foreground window. You can also use your webcam to broadcast your webinar.

To use your webcam click the Plus icon and select Video Capture Device. Select your camera from the list of options under the Device drop-down. When finished, click OK.

Step 8. Click the Start Streaming button in the bottom right corner. When the OBS establishes the connection to YouTube, the broadcast will be. Remember that there is a 15-20 second delay between your live stream and the public page.

Step 9. Now we need to connect your YouTube Live streaming page to Gurucan's webinar. Copy the link by clicking the right mouse button on the streaming video.

Now let's insert this URL to our Gurucan webinar settings. Go to Products - Webinars. Open Video/Broadcast tab. Then choose Webinar - via YouTube and paste the link to your YouTube Live streaming. More information on how to set up your webinars you'll find here.

Step 10. When everything is ready, it's time to go live! Only two clicks lift, and you're live. First, we need to turn on the live streaming on your YouTube account. Open your YouTube Live Streaming tab again and click the blue button on the top right corner.

After that, launch the webinar on Gurucan by clicking the Start button on the webinar's main page. Pay your attention that you conduct the webinars from your school's main page - not from the admin panel.

That's all! Finally, you're live!

Important note! Before you conduct an actual live webinar, we recommend setting up everything in advance and conducting a test webinar to be sure that everything works fine.

If you have any difficulties, please, contact our support team. We wish you success in conducting your webinars!
